Anne is a Lancashire born and bred lass and has a lot of blood relatives here as well as relatives on her ex-husband’s side.
Anne doesn’t have any blood relatives in New Zealand though so Sunday was the day we spent having a Rhodes Family Gathering.
It was a great day. We started by going to the cemetery to put more flowers on Peter’s grave and then to St Thomas’s cemetery to place flowers on Anne’s Mum and Dad’s graves.
Peter is buried at Walton Lane Cemetery.
St Thomas’s is a lovely old stone church that was burned down and is a preserved ruin. The inside of the old church has been turned into a garden of remembrance and ashes are placed inside the walls marked by plaques.
The Family Gathering was held at Sycamore’s Farm in Burnley.

Yes, a Lancashire rose next to her Koru.
We had a lovely time seeing you on the Sunday. We will definatley come and visit you some time soon. And you know what I can’t stop noticing people on bicycles without helmets on now!!!!
